About

My name is Kat and I’m a nature-loving, photo-snapping explorer with a soft spot for wild places, mountains, sunrises and the open road. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the great outdoors and the thrill of discovering new corners of the world.

Travel is my passion — and with every trip, my curiosity only grows.

When life feels noisy, the mountains are where I find peace. Hiking clears my head, fuels my soul, and reminds me what really matters. There’s something magical about standing at the top of a trail, breathless from the climb and completely in awe of the view.

The mountains are endless — and so is the adventure.

For me, photography is more than a hobby. It’s how I tell stories, freeze moments, and share the beauty I see through my own eyes. I’m especially obsessed with sunrises, sunsets, and silhouettes — nothing beats the energy of a new day breaking over the horizon or the soft glow of golden hour light.

If the forecast looks good, I’m probably already out with my camera in hand before most alarms go off 🌅

🚐 From Camping Skeptic to Vanlife Convert

Believe it or not, I used to hate camping! But all that changed when a friend invited me on a 2-week trip across Europe in her motorhome. That spark of freedom turned into a flame, and in 2022, I bought my first van — a converted Renault Trafic named Reggie.

Reggie and I explored all over the UK for two years, squeezing every bit of joy out of long weekends and road trips.

Then in 2024, I took a leap: I quit my job and set off to travel Europe full-time.

At 7am on May 1st, 2024, I took the EuroTunnel to France with no real plan — just a van named Reggie, a heart full of wanderlust, and a compass pointed north.

What followed was nothing short of extraordinary.

For the next three months, I carved my way across 18 countries, clocking over 9,000 miles of ever-changing landscapes, cultures, and jaw-dropping moments. My main goal? To reach the dramatic, untouched wilderness of Scandinavia — and it didn’t disappoint.

I spent four weeks hiking through Norway’s misty fjords, weaving past icy lakes in Sweden, and soaking in the stillness of Finland’s endless forests. Every trail I hiked felt like stepping deeper into a fairytale.

From there, I descended through the Baltic states, each country with its own character, charm, and surprises. And then, the grand finale — the majestic Alps, where I hiked beneath towering peaks and watched the clouds dance over valleys that seemed to go on forever.

It wasn’t just a road trip. It was freedom in its purest form. A once-in-a-lifetime chance to chase the horizon, push my limits, and wake up each day not knowing where I’d end up — only that it would be beautiful.

By the time I returned to the UK, I was forever changed — wilder, braver, freer — and already dreaming of the next adventure…

The interactive map below shows all the countries I have visited so far during my various travels.

My mission is to visit at least one new country every year, and more recently I have also added that the number of countries I have visited should never dip below my age!

Where should I travel to next?
